Inviting people
Bring someone into Harmony by inviting them by email with a role and a workspace. When they accept, they join your organization and that workspace. From there you add them to teams, workstreams and rooms.
Invite someone
- In the organization sidebar, choose Teams, then the Org members tab.
- Choose Invite to organization.
- Enter their Email, for example name@company.com.
- Choose a Role: Admin, Member or Guest. See Roles.
- Choose the Workspace they join.
- Choose Send invite.
They receive an email with a link. Until they accept, they show in the list as a pending invite. To invite someone straight into a team, use Add team member on the team's page instead. See Teams.
Guests
Choose Guest for people outside your company who should only see the conversations and workstreams you invite them to. Guests don't use a billed seat. Guest invites need a paid plan; on Free the role isn't offered.
You can also bring an outside person into a Sync for one call without inviting them to the organization. See Syncs.
Manage invites and members
Open the menu on a person's row in Org members:
| For | You can |
|---|---|
| A pending invite | Resend invite, or cancel it |
| A member | Assign to team, Remove from workspace roster, or Revoke org access |
Revoking organization access asks you to confirm and removes the person from the whole organization. Removing them from a workspace roster keeps them in the organization.
Seats
On paid plans, each person active in the last 30 days holds a seat, and guests never do. If your plan has no seats left, the invite form says "No seats left. Pending invites already reserve a seat." A Global Admin can change seats on the Billing page. See Plans and seats.
After someone joins
Joining the organization doesn't open every workstream or every part of the Company Wiki.
- Add them to their teams on the Teams page.
- Add them to the workstreams and rooms they work in.
- If they need sensitive wiki material, grant it. See Who can change what.
FAQs
Who can invite people? Global Admins can invite anyone. Admins can invite people to the workspaces they administer, with roles up to their own.
Do invited people use a seat before they accept? A pending invite reserves a seat, so you can't over-invite. Guests never use one.
Does an invite give someone access to our connected apps? No. Connections and their permissions are separate. See Connectors.
Can someone approve agent work before accepting? No. They need to accept and become active first.
