Installing a listing

Installing a listing

Installing a Loop gives you your own copy that runs on your connections, as you. Installing a tool makes it available to everyone in the organization. Harmony walks you through five steps, so you see exactly what you're approving.

Step 3 of installing a Loop: the permissions it reads and writes, before you continue

Install a Loop

  1. Open the listing and choose Install.
  2. Where it runs: choose a workstream for it, or No workstream — a Loop only you see.
  3. Connectors: check the connectors it needs. Connect any that are missing.
  4. Permissions: read What it reads and writes. The Loop runs as you, with your connections and your access, and only the connectors listed. Loops run unattended and don't stop to ask before each write, so approving these writes is part of installing it.
  5. Schedule: keep the publisher's schedule or change it (Every, the unit, and At (UTC)). Leave Turn it on when it is installed on to start right away, or off to install it paused.
  6. Review: check where it runs, its connectors, writes and cost, and choose Install.

The Loop appears under Installed and in your Loops, and runs on its schedule.

When a steward needs to approve

Your organization's install policy can ask for approval, for example for listings that write anything. If so, the last step says Your policy asks for approval and the button becomes Send to a steward.

  1. Under Why you want it, say what it would help with. Whoever approves it sees this.
  2. Choose Send request. The listing shows Request sent.

You can follow your requests under Marketplace → Requests. When a steward approves it, it's approved for the whole organization and you can install your copy. If they decline, you see why.

Install a tool

A tool has fewer steps: no schedule and no workstream. Once installed it is one tool for everyone here, and Harmony Agent can use it when anyone asks.

What it costs

Listings are free to install. Each run counts against the usage limit of the person whose copy ran, like any Loop. The listing shows what a run typically uses before you install it.

FAQs

Does the publisher see my data? No. The publisher sees install and run counts, and why runs weren't accepted, never your records, results or connections.

Can I change the schedule later? Yes. Open the Loop from Marketplace → Installed with Open Loop and change its schedule like any Loop.

Someone in my organization already installed it. Do I need to ask again? Once a listing is approved for the organization, anyone can install their own copy without asking. The listing says Approved for your organization.
