Creating a Loop

Creating a Loop

A new Loop with its workstreams, trigger and instructions, and Configure with Agent open on the right

Create a Loop

  1. In Loops, choose New loop.
  2. Give the Loop a name at the top of the page.
  3. Under Workstreams, pick the workstreams it belongs to, or leave it empty for a workspace Loop. Each workstream you pick gets its own copy of the Loop.
  4. Leave Enable on create on to let it run as soon as it is saved. A disabled Loop keeps its schedule but does not fire.
  5. Under Trigger, choose what starts it. See Triggers and schedules.
  6. Write the Instructions: what to look at, what to produce and what to leave alone.
  7. Add any Tools and Connectors it needs.
  8. Choose Create loop.

Write the instructions with Harmony Agent

Choose Configure with Agent beside Instructions. Describe what the Loop should do; Harmony Agent asks about anything a run would still be unsure of (which data, how often, what to leave alone), then writes the instructions for you.

Connectors and tools

  • Connectors: a Loop runs with its owner's connections, so connect a system in Connectors before adding it here.
  • Tools: with none attached, the Loop follows its instructions on its own.

Choose the model

After the Loop is created, choose Edit on its page. Under Model, choose Model for this Loop, or leave it on Harmony's model (Auto). Choose Save. See Spend and models.

Write good instructions

  • Say what the output is for and who reads it: a short brief for Monday's leadership Sync.
  • Name the sources: my open tasks due this week, the Syncs on my calendar.
  • Set limits: under 150 words, lead with anything overdue.
  • Say what not to touch, especially in connected systems.

FAQs

Can a Loop change things in other systems? Yes, through its connectors. Changes that need approval wait for it, as they do in chat; see Approving what agents write.

Who does a Loop run as? Its owner. Its runs post as you on the Loop's page.
