Team agents
A team agent is a coding agent, such as Claude Code or Codex, that belongs to the workspace rather than to one person. It runs on a Harmony cloud computer the workspace owns, and anyone in the workspace can put it on a task. It works as the person who asked, using their own model key first.
Use team agents when a whole team should be able to hand coding work to the same agent, set up once, without everyone pairing their own computer. For an agent only you use, on your own computer and plan, see Adding an external agent.
Who can set them up
People who can change workspace settings (owners and admins) add and manage team agents and team computers. Everyone in the workspace can put a team agent on a task. Team agents need Harmony cloud computers to be turned on for your organization; if they aren't, the card says Harmony cloud computers aren't available here yet.
Add a team computer
Team agents run on a team computer: a Harmony cloud computer that belongs to the workspace.
- Open Workspace settings and stay on the Workspace tab.
- Scroll to Team computers and choose Add team computer.
- The computer shows Starts when asked. Like a personal cloud computer, it starts when one of its agents is asked and switches off after 15 minutes with nothing to do.
Repositories the agents work in are the ones connected on that computer.
Add a team agent
- In Workspace settings → Workspace, under Team agents, choose Add team agent.
- Pick the Agent, for example Claude Code or Codex.
- Fill in Name and purpose: what people should hand it, for example fixes in the web app. The name is what people see when they assign tasks.
- Under Runs on, choose a team computer.
- Optionally set a Command (blank means the agent's default command) and a Working directory (its home folder if empty).
- Choose Add agent.
The agent shows Active, and anyone in the workspace can now choose it when they put an agent on a task.
How it works
A team agent runs on its team computer as whoever puts it on a task. Its model use goes through Harmony: the person's own provider key first, then the organization's, and for agents that use Anthropic's models, Harmony's models on that person's usage limit. See Model provider keys and local models. Its progress and result post on the task for everyone on it.
When the agent needs more access than it has, it asks in chat: allow once, always allow or decline.
Change or remove a team agent
- To change its purpose, computer, command or folder, choose Manage on its row, edit, and choose Save.
- To remove it, choose Manage, then Remove. People can no longer put it on tasks. Its computer and the files on it stay.
- To remove a team computer, choose Remove on its row and confirm Delete computer and files. This deletes every file on it, including repositories and logins, and can't be undone. Agents on it stop working until you move them to another team computer.
FAQs
Whose plan pays for a team agent's work? The person who put it on the task: their own provider key first, then the organization's key, and for Claude Code or OpenCode otherwise Harmony's models on their usage limit. See What external agents cost.
Can a team agent work in chat like my own agents? Team agents are for tasks. To ask a coding agent in chat, add your own external agent.
What's the difference from Harmony Agent? Harmony Agent is built into Harmony and works with your connectors and company knowledge. A team agent is a coding agent such as Claude Code, running on a computer, for code and repository work.
