Using connectors in chat

Using connectors in chat

You don't have to name an app for Harmony Agent to use it: ask in plain words and it uses the apps you've connected. When you want to point it at particular apps, attach them to the chat from the composer.

The chat composer with two connectors attached and the Add connectors menu open

Attach a connector with @

  1. In the message box, type @.
  2. Choose Connectors (Attach connectors from the catalog).
  3. Pick one or more apps. Connected apps are listed first under Connected; others appear under Available to add.
  4. Write your request and send it.

Attached apps appear as chips above the message box. They stay attached to the chat for later messages.

Add or manage connectors from the composer

  • Add connectors opens the same list. Search it by name, category or use case.
  • An app you haven't connected yet can be connected from the list. It shows Connecting while you sign in.
  • Manage connections opens the Connectors page.
  • An app marked Needs reconnect needs you to sign in again before the agent can use it.

What the agent does with them

The agent reads what your request needs from the attached or connected apps, and quotes the results in its answer. When the request involves writing to an app (sending, creating or changing something), it stops and asks first. See Approving connector writes.

Loops and connectors

A Loop runs as the person who set it up, with that person's connections. If you disconnect an app, your Loops that use it stop being able to. See Loops and runs.

FAQs

Do I have to attach a connector every time? No. Attaching is a way to focus the agent. Without it, the agent uses whichever of your connected apps fit the request.

Can other people in the chat use my connections? When a teammate asks the agent something, it uses their connections, not yours.
