Approving connector writes

Nothing Harmony Agent writes to another app goes out without a yes. When a request needs it to send a message, create a record or change something in a connected app, the agent stops and shows an approval card in the chat.

Read the card

The card says Waiting for your approval and shows what the agent wants to do:

the Connector it will use;
what the change does: Creates data, Modifies data or Sends message;
the details of the write, such as the channel and the message text;
for several steps in a row, the whole Action chain (The agent wants to run this action chain.).

Answer it

Choice	What happens
Allow once	The agent makes this write. For an action chain, the rest of the chain in this turn goes ahead without asking again.
Always allow → Allow app	This write goes ahead, and your connection to that app stops asking from now on.
Always allow → Allow all connectors	This write goes ahead, and you stop being asked for any app in this workspace.
Decline	The agent makes no change and stops.

After you answer, the card shows Approved or Declined.

Other endings you may see:

Timed out: nobody answered in time, so the agent did not make the change. Ask again to retry.
Cancelled: the turn was stopped before you answered. Nothing was written.

You can only answer a card in the chat where the turn ran. Elsewhere it says Open the chat this turn ran in.

Turn approvals back on, or off

For every app: open your profile, go to App settings, and find Connector approvals. Skip connector write approvals is what Allow all connectors turns on. Turn it off to be asked again.
For one app: open the connector's settings and set Write approval to Always ask (default) or Auto-approve writes. See Connector settings.

FAQs

Does reading from an app ever ask? No. Approvals are for writes: anything that creates, changes or sends.

What if I decline by mistake? Ask the agent again. It prepares the write afresh and asks again.

Do my approvals apply to my teammates? No. Your choices cover your own connections and your own settings.
